Even leading energy producers like the Bonneville Power Administration (www.bpa.gov) need to purchase energy to power their office buildings. BPA, with a tradition of environmental commitment, purchases power from Blue Sky. The organization purchases five percent of its total energy requirements from the Blue Sky program.

BPA is also the first government agency to adopt the Department of Energy's mandate to use more renewable energy resources. The 46,000 kwh of wind energy BPA purchases monthly is enough to power two average-sized elementary schools. Over the course of one year, BPA's commitment is equivalent to planting more than 150 acres of trees.
